108,who was born in 1978,is an Italian artist in the field of street art and contemporary art. He is one of the first artists to use numbers instead of letters for his name. He has moved from working in traditional graffiti to painting large and mysterious figures that invade public spaces. He started to work on the streets of Alessandria when he was a child. His first works known by people are enigmatic 'blob' like yellow shapes. His new works are labyrinths,dead trees,non-figurative 3D objects and installations but especially black and gloomy shapes. His intention is to make visual chaos. 108's doomy black abstractions are engaging and challenging. He has become one of the most influential artists in graffiti thanks to his works. In the last years,he has taken part in a lot of international exhibitions such as Nusign 2.4 in Paris,Urban Edge Show in Milano and Segundo and Tercer Asalto in Zaragoza. During March,2008 he was invited to join Nomadaz (a show curated by Pablo Aravena) in Los Angeles with Eltono, Dem, Microbo and other artists to represent Europe in the U.S.A. I think 108 is a unique artist whose enigmatic black paintings create powerful forms on walls and canvas. Today 108 continues to work on not only paintings but also the creation of sculptures, installations, photography, video and music. He is quite young and talented. I guess he will be more successful in future. I want to share a work from him.
